Merida and Caracas have some differences; Merida is so larger and longer. Caracas and Merida to be cities very beautiful, but Merida for landscapes and bigger mountains. Merida is more famous by to be a city tourist. Merida is better for you beautiful, you people and you landscapes. None cities is drier.

My favorite city in Venezuela is Merida. It is place is very beautiful and very exciting city. It is has big mountains and cold climate. It is clean and the nightlife is very interesting, relaxing and modern. I recommend you El Pico El Águila, La Venezuela de Antier, Los Chorros de Milla. It is the typical food is Pisca Andina.
